After all the blood, sweat and tears (literally!), my debut cookbook has arrived!
Incredibly, it was awarded the 2023 Australian Book of the Year, made the New York Times Best Sellers list and was an instant Sunday Times bestseller. Yes, a cookbook with a dog on the cover. Is this really happening?!

“The food you want to cook, eat and share, night after night”, aptly named “Dinner” (no exclamation mark, much to my dismay), this cookbook contains over 130 recipes plus 44 sides, sauces and other extras. It’s pretty hefty and bigger than typical cookbooks!
With a focus on quick and easy food for weeknights plus a sprinkle of special treats for festive occasions, the recipes use easy-to-find ingredients and naturally include what my publisher calls “Nagi’s famously helpful notes”. 😂
And of course a good dose of Dozer, who has been crowned Australia’s best-loved food tester!!!
The vast majority of the dishes are everyday recipes that are straightforward to make, spanning a variety of cuisines including Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean and French with a sprinkle of Middle Eastern. All my favourite flavours!
But there’s also a handful of very special recipes that have become much-talked about cult classics, including the Chinese Crispy Eggplant, Vietnamese Shaking Beef, Death by Chocolate Caramel Cake and the jewell of the crown – Beef Wellington.
This cookbook is the hardest, most challenging project I have ever undertaken in my professional career. Day after day, night after night, creating recipes, testing them, photographing, filming, writing, and proof reading… so much proof reading!!
But that first day I saw DINNER in a bookshop? It made it all worthwhile. I’m so proud of it. I hope you love it as much as I do!
